Holiday in Venice

Combining a holiday in Venice with a week in the Alps at The Retreat has been so popular with some of our visitors that we've actually added more info to the web-site especially. One guest actually used the phrase “the perfect holiday”. But let's not dwell on that too long or it'll go to our heads.

One of the main reasons the City of Bridges is such a perfect complement to holiday in our alpine cottage is practicality. Marco Polo airport (Venice's own) is about a two-hour drive from the Retreat and is much more regularly served than Trieste (the closest airport), particularly by Easyjet, who fly there direct from Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands and London Gatwick. They even fly there from Paris which means you could arrange the most romantic holiday imaginable (Paris, Venice, secluded mountain hideaway) and earn a year's worth of brownie points in less than a fortnight.
