Skiing in Slovenia

I guess most of us don't think of Slovenia for our skiing holidays. Which is a shame.

There's tonnes of snow here this winter. The Kanin ski centre has a whopping 7m of snow! Vogel has 2.5m. I've skied Vogel this week and had a great day. The long run down to the valley in particular was great fun - and there was almost nobody else on there.

Needles to say, all runs are open and there is loads of off-pieste to try. The Snow Park on Vogel is terrific this year. With all this snow they have been able to make some realy big jumps - so snow boarders can have real fun here.

It is also relatively quiet here. Apart from weekends there are mostly no ques at the lifts which, as we all know, makes a big difference to your day.

So, if you can, go!

(Hope to get up to Kanin next week.)
