Snow, snow, snow

I guess 30cm of snow is a shock for London and I can understand how it could disrupt things. I do not understand however how the railways and airports can't cope with it. Most of the rest of Europe can.

Here in Slovenia we have had three days of continuous snow - round us it has been more than 50cm. But through it all, everybody's life goes on as normal. The buses are running, the trains are running, the kids are at school.... Ok, snow in winter is expected here, we all have winter tyres for instance, so yes it is easier, but even so, it does seem pathetic that Britain can't handle it better.

Meanwhile of course, there is lots & lots of fresh snow on the ski slopes ......
